Goal

Clarify the Assignment Editor interface, while maintaining all existing functionality exactly as it currently existed.

Approach

• Clarified labels and options
• Grouped related settings and labeled with scannable group names
• Ordered page to collect general settings first, followed by more specific overrides
• Consolidated display and editing of per-question settings
• Added inline and pop-up help with targeted instructions
• Offered multiple defaults with assignment settings templates
• Created a simple initial view
• Progressively disclosed advanced settings
